BUTUAN CITY – With the unswerving objective to promote and sustain industrial peace, the Regional Conciliation and Mediation Board (RCMB) Caraga in partnership with the Caraga Industrial Peace Practitioners’ and Advocates, Inc. (CAIPPA) gathered 205 participants from various companies into the Labor Relations Forum on Greater Satisfaction at Work, October 15, here.
The activity was graced by Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Caraga Regional Director Chona M. Mantilla. In her opening message, she highlighted that the forum is a great venue for the Labor Relations practitioners to be updated on the latest laws pertaining to labor management relations, and also an opportunity to dialogue with key personalities and guest speakers.
“I commend the RCMB Caraga for continually conducting an activity like this and laud CAIPPA for being an active social partner in promoting industrial peace,” RD Mantilla added.
RCMB Caraga OIC-Director Ma. Theresa M. Francisco said that “most organizations strive for employee’s satisfaction, but not all attain this goal, thus, it is important for the employers to know more about the factors that can increase employee’s satisfaction, and how it fits into a company’s overall success,” stressing that the activity was initiated to highlight the importance of spirituality, values, and ethics in order to attain job satisfaction.
The said forum, attended by Administrative/Human Resource/Personnel Managers, Union officials and members from different companies in Caraga, primarily aimed to expound their knowledge on topics and laws pertaining to labor management relations.
For this semester’s AWS, RCMB Caraga conducted a Labor Relations Forum on Greater Satisfaction at Work and, Updates on Expanded Maternity Benefits, Service Charge Law & Unemployment Insurance.
Rev.Fr. Randy Jasper C. Odchigue, FSUU Vice President for Academics, served as the resource speaker and discussed the highlighted topic which is Greater Satisfaction at Work: The Importance of Values, Ethics and Spirituality in the Workplace. He highlighted various values which underline employee’s satisfaction, and how it can be of help towards company’s productivity and triumph.
Furthermore, a thorough discussion on the updates of the Expanded Maternity Leave Benefits, Service Charge Law & Unemployment Insurance.
Pepito C. Lao, Jr., Senior Analyst Social Security System (SSS) Butuan, shared his expertise on the computation and new features of the Expanded Maternity Leave. For the Unemployment Insurance, he gave an emphasis on the process of claiming the benefits after the certification has been provided by DOLE.
Atty. Rechelle B. Apao, Mediator-Arbiter, DOLE-Caraga, briefly discussed the recently approved Service Charge Law. On the other hand, she provided a comprehensive discussion on the grounds to claim the unemployment insurance.
A convergence update was also carried out during the said activity which were endowed by the representatives from Employees’ Compensation Commission (ECC), Occupational Safety And Health Center (OSHC), and Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Boards (RTWPB).
Apart from the discussions and dialogues, a photo wall was installed with crafted advocacies of NCMB and CAIPPA to bring appreciation and draw support on the promotion of industrial peace in the region.
“RCMB Caraga headed by Dir. Francisco deserves to be applauded for another successful Area-Wide Seminar,” Pagaran said.
“As your social partner, we will continue to work hand in hand with RCMB Caraga in all your endeavors advocating industrial peace,” he concluded.
